WILL LOYISO BALA’S NEW ALBUM REALLY “BLOW YOUR MIND”?

LB. They should rename him “Pulling-All-Stops-Out LB” (Paso LB) cause he’s definitely reached another plateau in his R&B career. I suppose it comes with experience. With a string of accolades to his name, such as the Best R&B artist at the MTN SAMA Awards, Best Newcomers & Best Album of the Year at the Metro Awards, it is clear that the Uitenhage native has been around the block for a minute now.

Loyiso has been delivering R&B worthy of international recognition since the days of TKZee. Although, he’s had no other real competition in this genre, he has continued to woo and knock over his avid fans with a lot of common elements. Unlike his previous work, which fell a little flat for me, where the hooks weren’t always quiet as capturing, LB this time around has summoned all his forces to lace out a very well-produced record.

The first few tracks are a little conventional; the type of stuff you’ll hear at high school dances and R&B clubs, but they all individually merit respect. With tracks like “Take me back” and “Maybe” cutting into the mainstream Rock/Pop side of the table it’s pretty evident that Loyiso’s been doing his home work and is now writing lyrics with LSM’s in mind. “Dali Wami” hits home in that old school fashion LB way and you can be sure his diehard fans will dance until the bedroom to this ethnic mix that our man has put especially for them.

There is an element of progression in the beats and the production of this album, but it is what it is, another R & B album. The album has its ups and downs; limited possibly by the girl meets boy lyrics in every song, but either than that it scores a good rating in my books. Let see if LB can sing these songs with the same vigor and tuned voice in his live performances.

After I initially left a comment I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now
each time a comment is added I receive four emails with the exact same comment.
Perhaps there is a way you are able to remove me from that service?

Thanks!
