NEW VIDEO - THE ROOTS' "75 BARS"

Hip hop's illiest and most creative band, The Roots Crew, is back with some new material. And the ish is sounding doper than ever. The Roots have teamed up with director Rik Cordero for the video of their latest single, "75 Bars".

This song is exactly what its title suggests - MC Black Thought raps up to 75 Bars in a fury that would make Ice Cube blush. The track has no hooks, no gimmicks, just straight up hardcore rhyming. In the video, the normally reserved Black Thought & Questlove whip the hell out of some white dude before setting him on fire; I wonder if that is meant to have some sort of underlying meaning???

Of course one has to wonder how this joint will fare on radio stations and video channels that have become the playground for ringtone artists such as Soulja Boy & T-Pain. But then again, The Roots crew have never really given a fuck about radio airplay!

"75 Bars" is lifted from their upcoming album, "Rising Down".
