HHP NOMINATED FOR AN MTV EUROPE AWARD

Fresh from winning Strictly Come Dancing and proving once and for all that fat people can boogey too, HHP has just received another well-deserved nod. Jabba is among the five African artists nominated for Best African Act at the 2007 MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs), which are taking place in Munich on 1 November 2007.

The five nominees representing the African continent at the 14th annual MTV Europe Music Awards will be upbeat Nigerian R&B sensation D’Banj, Ugandan hip-hop/ragga crowd-pleaser Chameleone, Kenyan underground hip hop king Jua Cali, Ghanaian Dancehall king Samini and of course, HHP, Mzansi’s man of the moment.

The ceremony will air live across Africa on MTV base (DStv Channel 88) and MTV European (DStv Channel 85).

The Best African Act category was introduced in 2005 to mark the launch of MTV Base, MTV’s first African music channel. The first award was won by Nigeria’s favourite son 2FACE in Lisbon, Portugal. In the following year, South Africa’s rainbow ensemble Freshlyground nabbed the award at a ceremony in Copenhagen, Denmark.

If you would like to vote for Jabba or for any of the other African acts, go to www.mtvema.com and make your voice heard.

In related news, HHP is hard at work on his new album, which originally had an August release date but due to rigorous schedule of preparing and recording Strictly Come Dancing, it has been pushed back.

HHP fans need not panic as the album should definitely be out in time for the summer season.
