NEW VIDEO: KANYE WEST - HOMECOMING

Kanye just won't stop. He is back with a brand new video for "Homecoming" off of the Grammy-winning "Graduation" album. The song features Coldplay's Chris Martin and is a fascinating tale of his relationship with his hometown, Chicago.

KANYE WEST, AMY WINEHOUSE WIN BIG AT GRAMMYS

What’s up people, I know some of you are looking forward to watch the 50th annual Grammy Awards on TV tonight but I’m gonna have to spoil things by announcing some of the winners already. Yeah, that’s just how we do it on Encore, we break stories while the rest of the Mzansi media still tries to figure out what happened.

Music's biggest night got underway as the ever-elegant Alicia Keys sang and played piano along with the performance by Sinatra, who appeared in black and white on a video screen, a pairing reminiscent of Natalie Cole's "duet" with her late father, Nat King Cole.

But it was Winehouse and West who really came out triumphant; Winehouse led the field with five wins, while West scored four. But both were shut out of the album of the year Grammy, which unexpectedly went to Herbie Hancock's Joni Mitchell covers album, "River: The Joni Letters," in the biggest upset of the night.

Winehouse, who was nominated for six Grammys, won best new artist and song of the year for "Rehab." The artist's performance via satellite from London was the most anticipated of the evening, and she did not disappoint, belting out "You Know I'm No Good" and "Rehab" in her trademark beehive hairdo and high heels. Immediately afterward, she won record of the year for "Rehab," breaking down in tears as she was mobbed by members of her backing band and her family.

Winehouse has been plagued by substance abuse issues in recent weeks, for which she entered rehab. Her visa to attend the Grammys in person was initially denied by the American embassy in London, who reversed their decision late last week, but not in time for Winehouse to make it to Los Angeles.

West, who led the field with eight nominations, won four Grammys, including best rap album for "Graduation." "A lot of people said hip-hop is dead," he said. "The art form wasn't popping like that anymore. I wanted to cross the genres and show people we can still express ourselves with something fresh and new."

West performed "Stronger" with help from Daft Punk, who he samples in the track, and then shifted into a heartfelt, sung tribute to his mother Donda, who died suddenly last fall. Tina Turner and Beyonce teamed for a glitzy segment, culminating in a duet on "Proud Mary," while the Foo Fighters were accompanied by the fan-voted My Grammy Moment contest winner, violinist Ann Marie Calhoun, on "The Pretender."

Kanye West is going on a super-crazy worldwide tour and he has roped in his favourite pals Rihanna, Lupe Fiasco & NERD to make history with him. This ish will be crazy; hope he makes another stop in Mzansi.

CRS - US PLACERS (VIDEO)

Last year, Encore broke the news that Pharrell, Kanye and Lupe Fiasco were teaming up to form a hip hop supergroup called CRS (Child Rebel Soldiers). This video is of a track that appeared on Kanye's "Can't Tell Me Nothing" mixtape.

CSR is scheduled to go into studio later this year.

KANYEEZY NABS 8 GRAMMY NOMINATIONS

Our Man of the Year has just been announced as the race leader in the tightly contested Grammy Awards, the biggest music conclave in the world.

Kanye West's nominations dominate the Rap field, with nominations for the Best Rap Album and double nominations in the Best Rap Song category - with both "Can't Tell Me Nothing" and "Good Life" vying for the award. Graduation is also in competition with Amy Winehouse's Back To Black, the Foo Fighters' Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, Vince Gill's These Days and Herbie Hancock's River: The Joni Letters in the Album of the Year race.

For Best Rap Album, the nominees are:

Finding Forever -- Common
Kingdom Come -- Jay-Z
Hip Hop Is Dead -- Nas
T.I. vs T.I.P. -- T.I.
Graduation -- Kanye West

West and Winehouse were not the only artists with multiple nominations, five acts received five nods -- the Foo Fighters, Jay-Z, hip-hop producer Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and T-Pain

KANYE SPEAKS ON THE PASSING OF HIS MOTHER

While performing in Brussels, Belgium on Sunday as part of his Glow In The Dark Tour, Kanye West made his first public statement on the passing of his mother. In an emotional couple of minutes, Ye touched on his mother, friends' reactions to his tragedy and the media. He also dedicated the song ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ [by Journey] to his mother.

Here's an extract of what he said on stage:

“.. The problems that we’re going through, the situations and hard times. And who would ever thought that these same songs would have to help me. And these shows, every show that I do has a different meaning to me now. Whether it’s “I Heard ‘Em Say, Nothings Ever Promised”, “You Can’t Tell Me Nothing”, “Jesus Walks”, “Touch The Sky”, or “That that don’t kill me can only make me Stronger”.

You know people call me and they say, “well you need to do this and you need to that.” And about 50 people, or 100 people that I ain’t never talked to in like the past 3 years call me out the blue talking about, “I just want to tell you that I give you [my] support and stuff.” Well I appreciate all the support and all that, but don’t suggest what I’m supposed to do.

[They say] “What you need to do is you need to stop touring and go home and clear your head.” Go home to what mother fucker? Because if they see you out and you go outside and then the media catches a glimpse.. MAN FUCK THE MEDIA! Nobody can tell me anything about, you know when they talk about celebrity lives and real lives and the difference with all this being on T.V. Right now, you can’t tell me nothing.

And there’s nothing that she loved more then to come to the shows and scream louder than any fan. Because she was my first fan that was screaming before anybody else. My first manager. And if she was here, she would tell me to “get on that stage and kill it dawg.” That was her favorite word, dawg. She would tell me to go on this ‘Glow in the Dark’ tour and take over the world and “be number one like how I taught you to be baby.”

Kanye buried his mother, Dr Donda West, on Tuesday. John Legend and Anita Baker sang at the funeral while Ye's famous friends such as Jay-Z and Beyonce were also in attendance to lend their support.
