COMMON'S FASHION SENSE

Recently we ran a poll on Encore asking you, the readers, to vote for the most stylish musician today. Amongst the options were hat fundi Common, the funky Kelis, the quirky Kanye West, the unpredictable DJ Sbu, the graceful Nhlanhla and the playful Pharrel Williams. In my opinion, all of the above-mentioned stars have a unique sense of style, which is refreshing because most stars play it safe and fail to experiment cutting-edge styles that might just make their brands stand out more from the crowd.

The majority of the votes however went to the Chicago conscious rapper Common. Apart from his good 'ol fashioned looks (ladies, I know you agree with this!), Common has always managed to look dapper in vintage-esque clothing that complements his calm, sensible personality to the letter. Where other rappers rock baggy jeans and embarrassingly oversized tees, Common opts for regular fitting pants, golf jerseys and "poor boy" hats. His passion for hats is evident, he rarely steps out of his crib without one of his trademark hats.
